This Birthday Celebration Isn't Over Yet. We decided it was time for a new, updated logo.
Here's the difference and why:
1. True Colorado Flag Colors: We changed our brand colors to true Colorado Flag colors because it's where we tested and developed our signature, guide tested & guide approved bugs. True Colorado colors because Colorado is home. It always has been and it always will be.
2. Our Company Birth Year, 2020: We've actually been at the guiding/fly tying thing for much longer than that, but we launched the official website in ~October 2020. So yeah, believe it or not we've been tying & selling bugs for over 5 years. That's crazy to me.
3. Bugs!!! Why wouldn't we have bugs on our logo? Well, it always has had a mayfly (3 actually). But now, as we have evolved as a company, and as we have evolved as a fly tyer(s), we thought it would be more fitting if we add a stonefly and a caddis to the mayfly, to represent our growing catalog of bugs. What about the midges, mice and all the other bugs? There in the river in the middle of the logo, where they belong. 😉
4. One Fish: When we started this adventure, we were primarily a trout fly company (and just a trout guide). That's why we had 4 outlines of trout on the previous logo. Well, between our customers & our flies (and all the things they catch with them), our tyers (some who also guide for other species besides trout), we've evolved to become a fly company for FISH, not just trout. So, we thought how fitting that we have just one fish that represents all species? AND YES, it does still look like a trout. We're quite okay with that.
5. Alternative Logos: Unlike our last logo, this one will have 3 alternates. Our base logo is the white with no bugs or founding year. You will see all of the others in different forms depending on the type media (social, print catalog, website, merchandise, etc.). Some will include the bugs and founding date, some will not. There will also be alternative colors besides the black and white for special occasions, (such as the already developed black midnight logo 🤫).
We hope you enjoy, and stay tuned for another 5 years!
Tight Lines!
